Freddie Allen

March, 2026

Freddie Allen moved to Castro Valley from the Peninsula and calls her new community “a hidden gem.”  Freddie had a printing business in Palo Alto and before that was a textile scarf designer.  When asked how she became a potter, she credits a friend who gave her a kiln.  “I’ve always enjoyed playing with mud, and drawing with color is satisfying to my inner core so ceramics was a perfect fit!”  Freddie’s ceramics are displayed in the curio case in the Lobby Gallery.  Her charming plates and bowls with birds and fish motifs are food and heat safe and make great gifts.  Freddie is donating all proceeds from sales to the Castro Valley Arts Foundation (CVAF).
